Cumberland County Schools are proud
of its’ Junior Reserve Officers’ Training opportunities offered
through our high schools. The Junior Reserve Officers’ Training
Corps, or JROTC, is a program designed to teach high school
students the value of good citizenship, leadership, service to
their community, personal responsibility and a sense of
accomplishment. The JROTC program also instills in the student
self-esteem, self-discipline and the value of teamwork. JROTC
prepares high school students for roles in responsible
leadership while making them aware of their rights,
responsibilities, and privileges as citizens of the United
States of America. The JROTC program supports the student’s
desire to graduate from high school while providing a variety of
opportunities that will help the student develop into a
responsible citizen to their community and their nation.
